Strong to the Core is a private group for runners and other athletes who want to take their fitness to another lever through daily strength exercises, speed work, and weekly running drills. Each month we have a new challenge that will focus on different areas of our body that we can strengthen to improve our overall fitness and achieve our running goals.

While the group is primarily focus on runners, everyone can benefit from daily motivation to get up and get moving!
Bio: Hi! I’m Amy Magdalein and I am a RRCA Certified Running Coach. I’ve been running for 8 years and have completed 12 Marathons, 50+ Half Marathons, and tons of shorter distance races including obstacle courses. This sport has changed my life in so many positive ways that I felt compelled to share my passion with others and help them achieve their goals. When my runners succeed, it’s just as exciting when I reach my personal goals!
Running is my first love but I know that to be better at the sport…I must also work on strength, balance and flexibility. Our arms, core, hips are the powerhouse…but sometimes it’s sheer willpower, and determination that propels us when we are tired and hurting. But if we make the time to strengthen the powerhouse (arms, core, legs and hips) we are able to go longer and finish stronger and faster. Strength training also helps us stay injury free and if you’ve been running for long, you know how frustrating it is to be sidelined.
There are so many benefits to strength training. Not only does it help us become better at what we love, it also promotes weight loss, bone health and a healthy heart.
